They look really cute over leggings with a skirt and add just enough height to feel saucey but not unstable. I put some half-insoles that provide a little heel cushioning and slight arch support and I can boogie all day! These boots are definitely not made for ladies with larger calves. If I tuck my skinny jeans into my socks I can successfully get the boots on over the pants, but I think it may be pushing it for anyone who questions the width of the shaft when buying tall boots. The feathers are cute, one or two of the little "wooden" beads/rings have broken off, but I have had these a long while and wear them a lot.
